Friday Gold Cardigan Posts: April 25

You know spring is here and summer is coming with all of the fruit related recipes swirling around the blogosphere. Truly the best time of year; nice weather, shorts, cute summer dresses and all of the really good fruit is in season and on sale (i.e. strawberries, nectarines and peaches). Just glorious.

This week has been full of moving preparations for next week (who knew it was so much work to move just 20 minutes up town?) and GRE studying (i.e. procrastination). Let’s hope tomorrow is the last time I have to take the test. Besides moving, at the end of next week I’m also off to the Big Apple for 24 hours to see college friends I haven’t seen since graduation day last spring. There will likely be many happy tears (at least on my end), mirthful laughter and eating (i.e. scarfing down) as many street soft pretzels, street gyros and Juniors’ cheesecake as I can.  Ah, New York, how I have missed you so.

But on to the really good stuff:

You can make the triple chocolate buttermilk bread I made from ‘Quick Bread Love’ eCookbook by Stephanie from Girl Versus Dough too or you can buy it here.

And Marie from Little Kitchie made the pesto cornbread with garlic scallion butter from ‘Quick Bread Love’ and it looks divine. (She also made some chai banana cake and it looked really good too).

Also, since I’m on a bread kick, I’m doing a happy dance over the homemade garlic bread recipe by Jocelyn from Grandbaby Cakes.

I’ve been wishing I could start a garden this spring; this DIY garden bed from Kathy at The Garden Glove is dreamy.

Nicole from Midwest Love Fest made these cauliflower poppers and I would be OK with them being the new french fry (as long as I can still dip them in Dijon mustard).

I need the two-way zip dress from Carte Blanche Hand-Crafted Dresses in my life. Support their Kickstarter campaign. The mission is awesome and the dresses so pretty.

May or may not have gasped “whaaatt?!” upon seeing the Easter torta pasqualina with spinach and samphire recipe created by Irina from Wandercrush in my inbox. Looks amazing.

This crumb apricot cheesecake by Julia from Vikalinka looks incredible. Love there are upside down apricots inside.

Heidi from Foodie Crush made a crab and avocado grilled cheese sandwich and it looks like everything.

Speaking of avocados the lovely folks at Brit+Co. have 13 ways you would’ve never thought to eat one.

These lemon thumbprint cookies by Zainab from Blahnik Baker scream spring brunches, spring picnics and general spring get-togethers.

Speaking of lemons, I also love these lemon blueberry madeleines  by Jessica over at What Jessica Baked Next. Love the touch of powered sugar.

Obsessed with these denim polka dot shorts from Libby Story.

Five nifty things you can do with coconut oil.

The lavender hue in the blackberry custard cake from Naomi at Bakers Royale is ridiculous (but really outstanding).

Things that make you say “damn”: this brown butter fried nutella banana croissant sandwich from Heather Cristo. Damn.

Also ridiculous is this Kentucky Derby mini chocolate-pecan cakes with vanilla bourbon smash ice cream from Tieghan at Half Baked Harvest. Those. Pecans. Those. Jars.

Vietnamese salty lemonade is a thing.

Fresh mint ginger lemonade is also a thing thanks to Laura from Blogging Over Thyme.

The sausage arugula ricotta tart from the ladies of Spoon Fork Bacon looks so pretty (and tasty).

Dying and salivating over these strawberry-rhubarb scones with sweet cream from Ashlae over at Oh, Ladycakes.

Heheh, glad to stir up some inbox excitement! Thanks for crediting back to the source, Marissa—rare these days on the big bad internet.

I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed the cusp of Spring/Summer quite so much as this year. Eat some cheesecake for me!
